Speaking Lesson from Singer and Stutterer Megan Washington
I was deeply moved by Australian singer Megan Washington’s TEDx talk this past April:
She speaks of the enormous challenges of having a stutter – and how singing has been her liberation, as “it is impossible to sing with a stutter.”
Her talk is a great example of the principle that you don’t have to be a marvelous elocutionist in order to be a great speaker. Washington’s message comes through with remarkable clarity, she keeps us at the edge of our seats, she literally makes us laugh and cry, and we leave her talk transformed for the better.
